Keep It Simple

The book Organized Simplicity has been the topic of some of my favorite blogs lately. So when it was offered online as a free e-book, I quickly downloaded it onto my Nook and have been reading it little by little ever since. Her daily docket document has helped me get my daily priorities in check and since my nesting instincts are kicking in as I'm only 7 weeks away from giving birth and I MUST get this house in order before then for my peace of mind.

While my life isn't incredibly busy, there are things that I've been doing that have been eating my time, energy and money. It was time to simplify. Having cut those few activities out of my weekly schedule has really been good for me. I am home more often now and while sometimes I feel like I never have contact with the outside world, I'm getting things done on my TO-DO list.

While at home I've:

  • hung up pictures and dusted the rest that were hanging on the wall;

  • washed the baseboards upstairs;

  • kept up with the ironing;

  • organized my kitchen cabinets;

  • organized the pantry closet;

  • organized the laundry room;

  • cleaned out the garage;

  • cleaned out the van (and have kept it clean!);

  • organized my desk and filed away important papers;

  • organized the kids and my craft shelves;

There is still so much more to do, but I've been conquering little by little and it seems to be working out, so I'm not going to stress about the quantity of the list and just relax that I will, with God's help and strength, get what's important done.
