Our trip to North Carolina was such a wonderful time together that I have one more post about it. This family outing was to Roanoke Island Festival Park. It wasn't very expensive and there was a ton of things to do and see. It was a real hands on musuem for children a sort of small scale Williamsburg with people in period dress and lots of things the kids could touch and feel and encounter about life in Colonial America. From the merchant ship of that time period to the Indian encampments to a museum with an assortment of period pieces to the large sand pit filled with miniture fossils and sharks teeth: a good time was had by all.
