The Force Be With You

This week the kids have a book fair at school. The administration set some dress up days and today was Star Wars. While my kids have yet to see the movie, they do love the characters already. Xavier was Ben Ken Obi and Veronica was Princess Leia.

I went originally to Walmart to price some costumes and of course it was out of our budget. So for $6 dollars I bought a brown shirt and white shirt for the kids.

I tied brown ribbon around a headband and then stuffed a sock in an old black stocking and attached it to the headband to make Princess Leia's famous ponytails. Veronica wore all white and a silver glitter belt.

Xavier wore some black sweat pants, a white t-shirt, a black scarf around his neck which was all tied together with a black belt. I then took the brown t-shirt cut it down the front and Xavier wore it as his Jedi robe. We had some little finger flashlights we had purchased at the dollar store which he attached to his belt as his light-saber.

A cheap and affordable Star Wars costume that made them feel special. The Force is strong in these two!
