Strength Made Perfect

I am attending a church conference with hubby and all 4 kids this week. At a women's luncheon our keynote speaker wanted to give us encouragement and shared some of her own personal struggles she was going through. She is a Polio survivor and in the last few years has been dealing with cancer. She told us that these illnesses in her life were her "tutor" and had taught her to draw closer to God. She shared the scripture in 2 Corinthians 12:9, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness. Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me".

I am still trying to process the meaning of this verse. It really is overwhelming to me that in my weaknesses God's strength is made perfect. Perfect means without blemish, lacking nothing, complete. So in my brokenness, Christ says, "Let go of your imperfection and allow me to take my place and complete you".

Another blog where what I am thinking is reflected in both you and Emily's blogs. I sat down to enter my thoughts on my blog, but checked you and Em's post first - so cool when that happens.
