Already February...

I still can't believe we've entered into the second month. I still haven't written down the goals for this year but I am getting better at making menus for the week and I have two weeks of preschool activities for the kids. I'm trying to work on pre-handwriting skills for Xavi and Onica. I've been in bed for the last two days resting. I think I did too much returning home from DC (how does laundry multiply so quickly?). Anyway, I had my 29 week check up and the doctor said my sugar level was good, but my iron was low, borderline anemia. So that could explain the fatigue for the last two weeks. He's prescribing physical therapy for my back, yeah!

My hubby is taking up the slack for the things I can't do and has blessed me with hours of extra sleep. We have exciting things happening next week, a big marathon in Birmingham that is bringing both my brothers for a visit and possibly some other friends. I can't wait to post pictures.

Beautiful new layout to your blog...you're so clever with that. It makes my brain hurt just to think about changing mine and what that would bring! Way to go with the menu planing and handwriting. I had such high hopes teaching the first two to do cursive at an early age and after 5 years of poor results I threw in the towel. I'm sure you're a much more encouraging teacher than I am so more power to ya sista!

A fun way I found when I was teaching the kids to write was to have a small, shallow box of sand or corn starch (it cleans up easier). They could then write in the sand and "erase" it to start a new letter. Then they don't have to work on mastering the skill of holding a pencil at the same time as learning to form the letters.
