Have you every quickly looked into your email box and deleted junk mail without really looking at them? My spam blocker usually does the job for me. For the last 2 years I've been getting an email from a cosmetic consultant I used once. I've never told her to stop sending me emails because I love her products and my hope was that if I got more money, I'd by more make-up. But of course it never happened. When I see here email I usually just delete it, but for some reason tonight, I opened it and was shocked. Shocked to find out that the emails these last two years were not mass marketing ploys, but sincere prayer requests.
She is evidently in the last stages of a serious illness which hospice has been called to assist. I can't tell you how sadden I was to hear of this woman's illness. She's a dynamic saleswoman and outstanding Christian woman. If you have time today, lift a prayer for her. I feel so late in the game praying for her, but there is always hope. Here is an excerpt of the email:
"Marla has begun to mumble when she speaks and they don't always understand what she is saying. She is sleeping a whole lot more now. Her hospice nurse says she will slowly begin to go into a coma due to the disease moving to her brain. She hasn't eaten in a week, but has had some water and ice chips. Ben, Marla's husband, shared that she woke up a couple of days ago and told him that she heard God calling her...and then as she hugged him she whispered in a childlike voice "can't you come with me?" Her weight is 160+ now due to all of the fluid(she was 115 in October when she came to FL). Her legs are "leaking" fluid due to the dysfunction of the liver and needs to have them dressed. One lung is 1/2 collapsed because of the swelling, so she gets winded easily. The best way to describe the way Marla's body looks is of all things "cocooning" - the metamorphosis is taking place. Marla and her husband, Ben, are still praying and awaiting the MIRACLE. They are at such a truly peaceful place together in all of this. I could see God's mercy and grace fulfilling them."
