The heat has been so terrible that stepping outside to play in the middle of the day is not such a great idea. And yet the kids need outside time and exercise. We went to the park even though it was really hot, but I chose a park that was somewhat shady to allow the kids to play without the measure of extreme heat. We were having a great time. I stuck two in the baby swing.

The older two were in regular swings. Then the most amazing thing happened. After trying to teach them how to swing on their own, they finally put all the movements together and began to... swing on their own!

Xavier yelled, "Look Mom, I'm doing it. I'm swinging". It was a wonderful moment. They were both ecstatic. In this heat, having to swing 4 by myself is a task. It is now lightened.

After playing in the park for about an hour we decided to head home. On the way home the baby began to fuss, and fuss a lot. I had to make a stop at the Post Office and when I checked on her she looked like this.

She was having an allergic reaction to something but a quick dose of benydryl calmed her system down. Boy did she give me a scare! The doctor says she's too young for an allergy test. We'll have to wait until she's two. Until then, we watch her like a hawk, making sure that we have meds on us at all times.
