A Few Extra Blessings

I've been blessed with a few extra things lately. Like this little beauty. An unexpected yard sale find for $25.

We have a junk shop down the street. It's like a hoarder's dream. An entire warehouse of stuff people just threw out. When my blender broke a couple of months ago, I went and found a replacement piece off an old blender for under a dollar. Last week I thought I'd take another trip to the junk store for parts for this mixer. While I didn't find what I was looking for I did find something that caught me by surprise. It was a Harrods oilcloth apron. Almost identical to one my mother had when I was growing up. I absolutely loved her apron and when I saw it, it brought back some fond memories, so I bought.

I brought the kids with me this time to the junk shop and while I was rummaging around Xavi found a box full of "castle parts". When I saw it I knew what it was and thought what a steal for $5. It's by Playmobil and costs around $175. When we bought it, it was all in pieces and so we didn't have time to play with it when we got home. I washed it and Guido and I assembled it later that night after Xavier went to bed. We set it up in his room....

And this is how happy he was when he found it the next morning.

I guess the underlying theme in finding all of these great bargains is that the Lord knows the desires of our hearts. I could never have afforded a brand new Kitchen Aid, but God knew I desired it. I could have never bought that castle for my son, and yet God found a way. He's interested even in the little things in our lives like a Harrods apron that represented great memories. I guess the Lord was trying to show me that He knows my heart and He listens even when I think He's too busy to notice. How great is the love of the Father for us.

What a perfect picture capturing his happiness! Made it worth staying up washing and assembling.

I still can't believe you scored the kitchen aid for $25. So above awesome.

That store sounds like it's somewhere you can spend hours in!
