I'm still not sure what the best thing to do for this holiday that everyone celebrates. My kids are bombarded by it in the stores, in the library, even at church. It used to be celebrated as Fall Festivals or All Saint's Festivals, but now they just call it as it is, Halloween. Trunk or Treat, Trick or Treat. My kids want to dress up and get candy too. What's so wrong with this, didn't I do it when I was a kid. I grew up okay, my faith was not shaken by it. And yet my heart just doesn't feel right having them celebrate with witches and ghouls. I wish I had some wisdom in knowing what to do next year.

me too!!!!!! I am having the same thoughts! I didnt celebrate it when i was a kid. But arent we celebrating the "holiday" when we dress up and go to church?? i will send you anything that i see about it!
I have the same thoughts every year about giving out candy, but year after year - there I am handy out treats to all the little ones knocking at my door.... and excited to do so.....but I think the excitement is more geared to a sense of community. All the neighbors are out, the kids are all out, people walking around - it's the only time of year that happens.
