Our first event was in Birmingham, AL a solemn march through historic 5 Points.
Onica bowed in prayer
Our second event was the National March for Life in Washington, DC on the anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade decision. We spent a week in the DC area visiting family and friends before the March on Friday. Guido and the other priests in our denomination met for early morning prayer in the congressional auditorium in the US Capitol building. The March started at 1:30pm. The weather was cold but the kids, snug in their warm winter clothes, braved the cold and marched along with thousands of others.
What impresses me most about the March every year is the amount of youth that have become involved. If our young embrace the culture of life than we have a chance for the culture of death to become obsolete. Did you know that abortion rates have dropped since the 80's? Did you know that some states have only one abortion clinic in their entire state? Praying for the end of abortion has really been effective. If you support life, don't stop praying. In our own immediate family we've been affected by abortion. One grandchild has lost their life to this culture of death. To stand up for those who have no voice has been a salve for the wound of the life we've lost.
