Family Game Time

My kids have finally come to that age where the playing of board games has become exciting and fun. In the last few months I've been collecting a bunch of used games from the local thrift store and we have all had a blast. I am also seeing my children's personalities blossoming right before my eyes. Veronica enjoys the competition of the game and seeks to finish a game she starts. She is a sorry loser and is learning that losing is okay. Xavier on the other hand doesn't care so much for who wins, nor does he care to finish the game. Something I need to work on with him. I would say Candyland is his favorite game. He gets great excitement from wondering what the next card wil be. His face lights up so bright. Veronica doesn't have a favorite, she loves them all. She is literally gleeful when I aks "who wants to play a game". She's just learned to flick the spinner board on Chute and Ladders and does it with so much concentrated effort, it's cute. Olivia likes to steal the cards from all our games and tries to eat them. If you're not playing games with your preschooler, you should try it. Not only is it educational, but great family time!

Thank you for reminding me about these wonderful long time favorite children's games. I realized that since Alina and Alexandria were very little, we haven't had those games. Once they outgrew them (and pieces went missing) we never replaced them. Anna and Lucas are at the perfect age to reintroduce into our home. I'm glad you posted about the games! Have fun!!!
