We celebrated the 4th early by celebrating on the 3rd here in our little town. The city put on an excellent fireworks show and it was so nice sitting with our friends enjoying the evening together. We didn't fight large crowds of people or spend too much money. It was just wonderful to listen to the patriotic music and the fireworks. The kids had freedom to move about and not get lost. Xavier loved the fireworks. Veronica did not like the sound and hid in Guido's armpit for the rest of the show. Olivia was indifferent but not at all alarmed by the loudness of it. Saturday was a very slow day, we did nothing. We ate dinner at the Whole Foods Market and then went to Barnes & Nobles until they closed at 9. We sat in a church parking lot and watched locals set off their own firework show. I missed being home around extended family, but I at least was around my own loved ones.
