As I am still clearing the house of Christmas stuff I was putting away the Christmas cards we received this year and this one caught my eye because it was my favorite. This was a Christmas card we got from the Monastery around the corner from our house. It's the Holy Family with one of the monks holding baby Jesus. I just thought about how amazing it would have been to hold baby Jesus. To look at him and realize that this small life was going to carry my sins to a cross and die for me. When I look at my daughter, Olivia, and think how precious she is to me; I'm sure Mary and Joseph must have felt that same love.
If you happen to come to Conyers you should visit the Monastery. It's a holy place that I believe is filled with the presence of God. I walked into the sanctuary and knelt at the railing and just began to weep so overwhelmed with a feeling of God near me that words can't express.
