Yeah! My mom is here! She arrived Saturday night because we all thought we were having the baby. You'd think I'd know when the real thing was happening seeing this is my 3rd kid and all. But alas, my contractions, although 5 minutes apart, were not strong enough to push me past a 2cm dilation point. So here I am 2 days later still contracting, a little bit stronger this time, but when the contractions seem to get good, they stop. This has been the problem of every pregnancy of mine and I've had to have Pitocin to help me along. I'm just 1 measly cm away from staying at the hospital, and I'm tired and getting very hormonal!! Yikes!
Olivia's really not due until October 1st, so I'm trying really hard to be patient. Peggy, my sister-in-law arrives on Thursday, so the house is full of help. Owee, here comes another contraction.............
Phew, did I tell you I was trying to have this baby au natural. I went to a conference over the summer called "Giving Birth God's Way". I told Guido that if this conference was on giving birth natural, I was gonna laugh, because I WANT DRUGS! What happened at the conference was a beautiful display of how God is with us in childbirth. The presentation was so inviting, I decided I'd try it. Millions of women over many centuries have given birth natural, why not me. And now as the contractions get a little harder, I'm questioning my thinking on this....
Oh Lord, thou are with me in this, right? Yes, Jenette, I am!

What fantastic news to have reinforcements arrive. I'm sure that the added support is priceless, plus all the bonding you get to do with them in the intimate moment of childbirth.
I've heard that natural childbirth is a piece of cake?
Just kidding! (Maybe it's too soon for you to find that funny???)
I'm so glad to hear that the help has arrived. I'm among the very few that delivered all four babies completely naturally!!! I'm SUPERWOMAN, hear me ROAR!!!!!!!! (A few of my small list of true incredible moments.) You can do it!
BREATHE!
I too delivered all 4 Natural...only one with patocin and I swore never again! Cytotech helped me dilate on two of the deliveries and it was MUCH more peaceful.
Sunday I stepped off a curb and rolled my ankle and I swear the pain was worse than childbirth so I started doing my very focused breathing and the pain went away. Well and Josh was praying that I wouldn't passout or throwup on him from the pain so God was probably answering his prayers. ANYWAY,
Focused, controlled breathing is the trick. Will be praying for that delivery!
The breathing really does work, em is right. Stay focused and repeat "I can do all things through Christ, who gives me strength, I can do ALL things through Christ, who gives me strength."
hey lady..let me know how the natural thing goes. And dont feel bad if you need drugs...my outlook on it??? Eve cursed us all by eating that bleepin apple...now God helped us out and had mercy and made a thing called an EPI!!!!!!!
i was thinking next time i get preggers to read the book about the giving birth Gods way..but we will see how that goes...i really enjoyed my last labor! it was quiet and quick!
hope all is well with you. hope to get to see you again soon!
It looks like it is a race to see if Jonathan or Olivia arrives first! He should be home this weekend.
Breathe- will be praying for you all.
