The second Tuesday of the month the Children's Museum of Atlanta, thanks to a sponsorship from Target, has free admission for parents and kids in the afternoon. It started back in January but due to schedule conflicts we haven't made it down there until today. We took the Marta Train downtown, which was a whole adventure on its own, and walked the three blocks to the museum. We packed our lunch and ate it in line as we waited for the free tickets. We actually got there before the line outside got crazy. Guido noticed that my friend Lori was getting ready to walk past us, so I got her attention and we waited in line altogether. It's always fun to run into people you know, and in a city as big as Atlanta I was surprised to actually run into someone I knew. The kids had a blast in the museum. Xavi's favorite spot was the train tables and Onica's the water tables. Trying to get them away from those areas to try new things was very difficult. After the museum we crossed the street and played at the playground in Centennial Park. The cost of the museum is $11 for people 2 and older, it would have cost us $33 to get in and if we hadn't brought lunch, it would have been much higher. The real cost of the day for us was just $7, for the train. Thanks Target!

We've been to the children's museum with the kids, what fun. We usta look for those free days, but this year broke down and bought a family pass for the year. We visit museums everytime were on the road, so this made sense to get. We are trying to keep track of all the free museums we get to go to because of this pass. We are planning to go the Children's Museum of Manhattan in a couple of weeks where there is a hands on exhibit of Dora and Diego (Lydia's favorite). It has been well worth it and we love going to them. Sounds like you guys had a great time.
I needed to say we've been to the one in Atlanta, sorry!
Sounds like a good family day. Seems like you've been getting a few of these in lately - is Guido on break from school?
Yes, for the summer and will be back in school in September. He's looking for more work over the summer, but until then, it's nice to have him home to help with the kids.
