Feliz Navidad

We made it to Jacksonville just in time to celebrate Christmas with my family. Along with my parents my brother Josh and his family also came down. It was a great family reunion. Our family tradition is to open one Christmas present on Christmas Eve. My niece Victoria was wild with anticipation. She circled the tree like a hungry jaguar looking for prey. I just laughed, I'm sure when the kids get older they'll be just like that. But for now neither one of my kids even noticed the gifts under the tree. Veronica was more fascinated with a hanger she took off one of her gifts than any of the toys. Xavier however, got really into it. He loved unwrapping his gifts and playing with each toy. My brothers were very generous with their gifts. Thank you Uncle Josh & Uncle Ethan. Both my brothers decided to gift our children with really loud toys! Wait till next Christmas with a brand new baby Ethan!
Veronica wanted to make Christmas memorable in other ways. We ended up going to the ER early Christmas morning. She had awaken earlier that night with a barking cough. No fever, no symptoms of any kind prior to this day, we were told she had croup. After an intensive breathing treatment, some oral steroids, and several hours of observation they let us go home. Veronica slept for most of the day and missed out on much of Christmas morning. We were housebound for the next couple of days, but thank God it wasn't anything worse!
