Advent Reflections
My husband and I want to give the kids opportunities to reflect during Advent. I truly believe that children, no matter how old, can be taught the faith in simple ways. So with that thought we took out our homemade advent wreath, lit the candle and tried to say our advent prayers. Xavi however thinks the wreath is a birthday cake and throughout the prayer is trying his hardest to blow out the candle. Veronica, who did not want to participate, has found my bra in the dirty laundry and is promptly running around the table with it. Poor Guido is trying to be solemn and there is chaos happening all around. I still think God heard our prayers. And Xavi did finally blow out the candle. Sometimes we have to lay our expectations aside and let life happen, but through it all God sees our efforts and smiles. Thank you Lord for your loving kidness, your abounding grace, and thank you most of all for your sense of humor.

I'm sure that God more than heard your prayers. He probably had a big smile on His face watching a loving family create traditions as they honor Him - dirty bras and all!
